Where people go when Chai is not working for them.
- Chai AI Alternatives: Free Limits, Prices and Policies Compared Chai is an 18+ mobile chat app from Chai Research Corp. Its US App Store listing shows coin-style 'Pieces' packs from $2.79 and subscriptions from $9.99 to $29.99 (checked 18 October 2026), and recent public reviews often mention new daily limits. If free use matters most, Character.AI says its messaging is free and unlimited, while PolyBuzz and Talkie are free with ads.
- Character AI Alternatives in 2026: How to Choose the Right One There is no single best Character.AI alternative. Decide first how much content filtering you want, then compare memory, personas, group chat, voice, free limits, price and privacy. Every app here that states an age rule sets it at 18 or older, and several now verify age. Prices below are US prices seen on official pages or official app store listings on 18 October 2026.
- Character AI Alternatives With No Filter: What 'Unfiltered' Really Means 'No filter' is a marketing phrase, not a policy. Every app here keeps a prohibited content list, requires users to be adults, and can remove content or accounts. What changes is whether adult themes are allowed behind an age check or toggle. Character.AI says pornographic content is against its terms, so adults who want mature roleplay look elsewhere.
- Janitor AI Alternatives: What to Compare Before You Switch Janitor AI is an 18+ storytelling platform with user personas, an in-house model of about 8K to 9K tokens of context, optional API proxies and a janitor+ plan ($12.99 a month on the US App Store, checked 18 October 2026). The closest documented alternative is SpicyChat, which publishes context sizes by tier and supports group chats of 2 to 10 bots. CrushOn AI offers per-character content ratings.
