Cookie notice
The short version: analytics cookies only with your permission, never advertising cookies.
Analytics cookies, only if you accept
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides and tools people use. It runs only if you choose Accept analytics in the banner. Until you accept, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets these first-party cookies on aitriedhq.com:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart so they can be counted, using a random ID | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit (session) | Up to 2 years |
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We have not enabled advertising features, and advertising storage, ad personalisation and ad user data are always set to "denied". We run no ads and set no advertising cookies.
We record a few simple events to improve the site: searches typed into the header or home page search box, when someone uses the Companion Matcher or Roleplay Studio (the options chosen, never the character names or text you type), and clicks on affiliate links if we add them. These events are only sent if you have accepted analytics.
Local storage
We also use your browser's local storage, which stays on your device and is never sent to us, for three choices:
| Key | What it remembers | When it is set |
|---|---|---|
aitried-consent | Whether you accepted or declined analytics | When you press Accept analytics or Decline |
aitried-theme | Light or dark theme | Only if you press the theme switch |
aitried-adult-ok | That you confirmed you are 18 or over in Roleplay Studio | Only if you tick or untick the 18+ box |
If your browser blocks storage, the site still works; it just will not remember these choices, and analytics stays off.
Change or withdraw your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Open cookie settings (also linked as "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page) and choose Decline. That stops analytics from the next page you load. To remove cookies already set, clear this site's cookies and data in your browser settings. You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
