Who we are
AITried is an independent publication run from Kenya for readers anywhere in the world. We write in English about AI products that people pay for: subscriptions, apps and devices. Our aim is simple: help you decide whether something deserves your money before you spend it.
What we cover
- AI companions: companion and character chat apps, covered in a non-graphic way that focuses on pricing, privacy, safety and value.
- Guides: explainers on how AI products work, what plans include and what to check before paying.
- Comparisons: side-by-side looks at similar products against stated criteria.
- Best of: shortlists for a specific need, with the reasoning for each pick.
How we label our evidence
Every article carries one of three labels: Documentation-based review, Hands-on tested or Not yet independently tested. We do not claim to have tested something unless we have. Each article lists its sources with the date we checked them. Read how we review.
How we make money
Right now, AITried earns nothing from the products it covers. No affiliate links are active, we carry no advertising and no company has paid for coverage.
In future we plan to use affiliate links. That means we may earn a commission if you buy through a link, at no extra cost to you. Any page with affiliate links will say so clearly at the top, and commissions never decide our verdicts. See our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.
