Age and content policy
Some AI companion apps are for adults only. Here is how we cover them, and the lines we never cross.
Who the site is for
AITried is written for adults. Many guides are useful to anyone, but some cover apps whose own terms say they are for people aged 18 and over. Those pages carry an 18+ notice near the top. If you are under 18, please follow each app's own age rules and do not use services meant for adults.
How we cover adult-only apps
- Non-graphic, always. We write about price, privacy, safety, features, fixes and value. We do not describe sexual content, and we do not publish explicit images or screenshots.
- An 18+ notice is shown on articles and app hubs about a product whose terms set an adult-only age rule, or that offers an unfiltered adult mode.
- We state age rules from official terms, with the date we checked, rather than from app store ratings, which can differ.
Roleplay Studio
Our Roleplay Studio writes scene starters for AI chat apps. It follows the same rules on every setting:
- All characters are adults. Anything suggesting a character under 18, or age-play, is refused.
- No sexual content, and no graphic violence or gore.
- Fictional characters only. No real people, celebrities or public figures.
- No encouragement of self-harm, and no hateful content.
- Darker genres (such as Dark Romance), the captor and captive dynamic and the apps we group as unfiltered need a one-time 18+ confirmation, saved only in your browser. Even then, scenes build tension through dialogue, secrets and stakes, not through abuse.
The Studio checks what you type before it writes anything, and checks its own output before showing it. If something slips through, use the Report button on the scene or email hello@aitriedhq.com.
What we never publish
- Any content that sexualises minors or young-looking characters. Ever, in any form.
- Sexual or explicit content of any kind.
- Instructions for getting around an app's age checks or safety systems.
- Fake screenshots or AI-made images presented as a real app's interface.
Safety and wellbeing
AI companions can be comforting, and they can also take more time, money or emotional energy than people expect. Our safety guides cover privacy, scams and healthy use. If you are struggling, please talk to someone you trust or contact a local crisis line.
