Candy AI Boyfriend: How the AI Boyfriend Side of Candy AI Works

Adults only. Candy AI is an 18+ service. Its Underage Policy says users must affirm that they are above 18. This article is written for adult readers and contains no explicit content.

How this article was made. This is a documentation-based article. We have not used a paid Candy AI account. Everything below comes from Candy AI’s own homepage, AI Boyfriend page, character builder page, subscriptions page, Terms of Service, Privacy Notice and Underage Policy, all read on 18 October 2026. Where the official pages do not answer a question, or contradict each other, we say so.

Where the boyfriend side lives

Most coverage of Candy AI focuses on its female characters. The male side is easy to miss. On the homepage, characters are grouped into three categories: girls, anime and guys. The Guys link goes to a dedicated AI Boyfriend page at candy.ai/ai-boyfriend.

That page opens with: “Prefer a masculine presence? Our AI Boyfriend characters offer confidence, support, humor, or even a bit of edge.”

The same account, plans and tokens apply whichever category you use. There is no separate boyfriend subscription.

What the Guys category offers

The characters

The AI Boyfriend page does not give a count of male characters or list them by name. It shows male banner images and describes a range of personalities rather than a formal list. Examples in its text include characters who are “calm-natured and romantic”, confident and charismatic, or thoughtful and intellectual.

It also groups the ways people use an AI boyfriend into casual chat, emotional support, deep discussions and daily companionship.

Chat, voice and images

According to the boyfriend page:

• You can “Ask for selfies and audio messages with any instructions you want your boyfriend to follow.”
• He can send pictures on request, in realistic or anime style.
• The AI “uses machine learning technology to pick up on your likes, dislikes, and other nuances.”

The homepage adds a choice of voices, “soft and comforting, bold and confident or anything in between”, and describes memory as “advanced personality modeling and memory retention”. It also lists generated video among the main features.

What the pages do not say: how many tokens a selfie, audio message or video costs. See the token section below.

Creating a custom boyfriend

This is where the official pages disagree, so read it carefully.

What the boyfriend page says

The AI Boyfriend page describes three steps:

1. “Use the character generation option to choose all the features you want your AI boyfriend or AI girlfriend to have.”
2. Fill out some prompts, then select “generate” to bring him to life.
3. Ask for selfies and audio messages.

It says you can “shape his look, personality, and bring him to life in one click”, and customise “tone, language style, and responses to fit your communication preferences.”

What the builder page showed

The Create Character link in the site menu goes to candy.ai/characters/new. On 18 October 2026, that page was titled “Create your Dream AI Girl”. Its steps covered style (realistic or anime), ethnicity, hair, eyes, body type, name, age, personality, relationship, occupation and voice. We saw no option to choose a male character before sign-up, and the relationship list was framed around girlfriend roles.

The subscriptions page also lists the Premium benefit as “Create your own AI Girlfriend(s)”.

What this means for you

We could not confirm from the official pages that the builder currently creates male characters. It may offer a male option after sign-in, or the boyfriend page may describe a feature that has changed. If designing your own boyfriend is the reason you want Candy AI, create a free account and check the builder before paying. The free tier is small, but checking the builder does not need a subscription.

Plans and prices (checked 18 October 2026)

The subscriptions page listed these plans on 18 October 2026. Prices may differ by country, and the page says “Additional local taxes may apply.”

The payment screen also showed a two-weekly option billed as $9.79 and a weekly option billed as $5.6. These did not appear on the main pricing cards, and the page does not say when they are offered.

The listed Premium benefits are: creating your own AI girlfriends (the page’s wording), generating 18+ images and 18+ videos, a “Full Live Action Experience”, unlimited text messages and 100 tokens per month.

The free tier

The Terms of Service say: “As a free user, you may generally send a maximum of 5 messages to AI Characters.” That is a preview, not a usable plan.

The AI Boyfriend page mentions a “7-day trial” with full access. We found no trial in the Terms of Service or on the subscriptions page, so treat that claim as unverified until you see it at checkout.

How tokens work

Tokens pay for the features most people want from a boyfriend character, such as selfies and audio messages. From the official documents:

• Subscriptions include a monthly token amount disclosed at checkout, “generally 100 per month” (Terms of Service).
• Remaining tokens expire at the end of the billing period and do not carry over (Terms of Service).
• You can buy more tokens at any time (homepage).
• The homepage says “the more detailed your companion, the more tokens you’ll use”.

We could not find the token cost of a single image, audio message or video, or the price of top-up packs. Without them, you cannot predict how far 100 tokens will go. Our guide to AI companion subscription costs explains how to estimate this once you see the in-app numbers.

Privacy

The AI Boyfriend page says “Your privacy is our top priority”, describes secure storage, and says only you have access to your chats. The Privacy Notice (revision dated 16 October 2026) gives more detail, and it is the document that counts:

• It lists user prompts and the AI’s outputs among the data collected.
• It says third-party LLM providers or hosts “may receive the content of your messages exchanged with our chatbot”.
• It says interactions may be aggregated, anonymised or de-identified and used to “train and develop our AI models and moderation technologies”, and that preparing those datasets may involve human review.
• Account data is kept for three years after your last account activity, or until you ask for deletion. Financial data is kept for ten years. Log files are deleted after 30 days.
• Deletion requests go to support@candymail.ai. The Data Protection Officer is at DPO@everai.ai.

“Only you have access” and “third parties may receive your messages” are not the same thing. Assume the second is accurate. Our AI companion privacy checklist and is Candy AI safe? go further.

Age rules

The Underage Policy says users must affirm they are above 18, that an age gate is presented, and that the company “may also implement further measures to verify that users are adults, in accordance with local requirements”. A parent who believes a child has used the service can email support@candymail.ai to have access blocked. The AI Boyfriend page itself does not mention age.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancelling

The Terms say you cancel under “Settings / Unsubscribe” in your account. You keep access until the end of the current billing period and are not charged again. Charges appear as “EverAI” on your bank statement. Our guide to cancelling an AI subscription explains how to keep proof.

Refunds

If you pay in crypto, the Terms indicate you will not be eligible for a refund.

What we could not verify

• Whether the character builder can create a male character, given the builder page was labelled for AI girls.
• How many male characters the Guys category holds.
• The “7-day trial” mentioned on the AI Boyfriend page.
• Token cost per selfie, audio message or video, and the price of token top-ups.
• Which plans the weekly and two-weekly billing options belong to.

Bottom line

Candy AI does officially offer male companions through its Guys category, with chat, voice, selfies and memory described on the official pages. The weak point for anyone who wants to design a boyfriend from scratch is that the builder page and the Premium benefit list were both framed around girlfriends on 18 October 2026. Check the builder with a free account first, compare yearly costs, and read the refund rules before you pay.
