Prices change and can differ by country and currency; the official page is the final word. App names marked with a partner programme are affiliate links. "Best for" summarises the published features and user reports in our guides, not our own tests.

Adults only. SpicyChat is an AI character chat platform for adults, and its sign-up form asks you to confirm you are 18 or older. This guide is non-explicit and covers prices, limits and billing only.

What to do this week if Character.AI goes dark. Character.AI is in a sale process and no shutdown date is confirmed, but some users report outages and falling chat quality. Spend 10 minutes now: request the official export, copy your bot definitions and persona by hand, and keep the file offline. Steps are in our 10-minute Character.AI backup guide. Adults looking for a new home can use the comparison below, but no app here is a guaranteed permanent home.

How this guide was made. This is a documentation-based guide. It relies on SpicyChat’s pricing FAQ, its product documentation, its refund policy and its terms, plus the official pricing pages of the alternatives we compare, all read on 22 October 2026 unless a source says otherwise. We have not subscribed to any SpicyChat tier, so nothing here describes how the paid tiers feel in use. We describe what SpicyChat says each tier includes and work out what that means for your money.

The short answer

SpicyChat premium is worth it for one kind of user: someone running long stories who keeps hitting the free tier’s short memory. For that person, True Supporter at $19.95 a month is the first tier that changes anything that matters, because it doubles the memory, turns on Semantic Memory 2.0 and lengthens replies.

It is not worth it for casual chatting. The free tier has no published message cap, so you never pay to keep talking. And the cheapest tier, Get A Taste at $5.95, removes ads but leaves the memory and reply length exactly where the free tier has them.

What SpicyChat premium costs after the September 2026 price rise

SpicyChat raised all three prices on 8 September 2026. Its pricing FAQ says it was “a price change only” and that every tier keeps what it included before.

Tier Monthly before Monthly now Annual now Annual, per month
Free $0 $0 $0 $0
Get A Taste $5.00 $5.95 $60.00 $5.00
True Supporter $14.95 $19.95 $199.95 $16.66
I’m All In $24.95 $29.95 $299.95 $25.00

Euro prices match the USD figures. In GBP the monthly prices are £4.95, £16.95 and £25.95, and the annual prices are £50.00, £169.95 and £259.95.

The annual plans save about 16%. Twelve months of True Supporter at the monthly price is $239.40, against $199.95 up front, a saving of $39.45. For I’m All In the saving is $59.45, and for Get A Taste it is $11.40. You pay that saving back in risk, though, because SpicyChat’s refund policy rules out refunds for unused time (see below).

If you subscribed before 8 September

The FAQ is generous to existing subscribers, with conditions:

  • You keep your old price for as long as the recurring subscription stays active and on the same plan, monthly or annual.
  • Any change resets it. An upgrade, a downgrade or a switch between monthly and annual moves you to current pricing, and the old price does not come back.
  • Cancelling is reversible, briefly. A cancelled plan can be reactivated at the old price before the current period ends. After it fully expires, the old price is gone.
  • Failed payments are a risk. Payments are retried a few times. The FAQ says to contact support right away if they keep failing, before the subscription lapses.

So if you are on the old $14.95 True Supporter price, think twice before switching to annual billing to “save money”. The switch puts you on the new $199.95 annual price.

What each tier changes

This is the core of the decision. SpicyChat’s Premium Features page and its tokens-and-context page together give the full picture. Each tier includes everything in the tier above it in this table.

Free Get A Taste True Supporter I’m All In
Price a month $0 $5.95 $19.95 $29.95
Ads Yes No No No
Context memory 4,096 tokens 4,096 tokens 8,192 tokens Up to 32,768 tokens, model dependent
Longest reply 180 tokens 180 tokens 300 tokens 300 tokens
Memory Manager No Yes Yes Yes
Semantic Memory 2.0 No No Yes Yes
User personas Not listed Up to 10 Up to 50 Up to 100
Extra models No Two more Five more Eleven more, including the largest
Conversation Images No No Select characters only Any character, including your own
Text-to-speech No No No Yes, no message limit
Priority in the queue No No No Yes
Temperature, TopP, TopK settings No No No Yes

The model counts come from SpicyChat’s AI Models page, which lists six models for everyone, two more from Get A Taste (Magnum 12B and Magnum Diamond 24B), five more from True Supporter (including Qwen3 235B) and eleven more for I’m All In (including SpicyXL 132B, Kimi K2 and several DeepSeek models). The page warns that its list may be out of date and points to Generation Settings, then Change Model, inside a chat for the current set.

What “context memory” means in messages

Context is the amount of text the AI can see when it writes its next reply. SpicyChat’s tokens page says it holds the character definition, recent messages, recent replies and generation instructions, and that when it fills up, the oldest messages drop out. For a deeper explanation of why companions forget, see what memory means in AI companion apps.

SpicyChat gives its own rough example for the free tier: with a 1,000-token character definition and messages of about 150 tokens, about 3,096 tokens are left for history, which is “roughly 20 recent messages”. Using the same method:

Tier Context Left after a 1,000-token character Recent messages the AI can see, roughly
Free and Get A Taste 4,096 3,096 20
True Supporter 8,192 7,192 47
I’m All In, on a 32K model 32,768 31,768 210

These are estimates built on SpicyChat’s own assumptions, and generation instructions take a share too, so the real numbers are a little lower. The point is the scale: True Supporter lets the AI see more than twice as much of the conversation, and I’m All In on a 32K model about ten times as much.

Two catches apply to the top figure:

  • Not every model goes to 32K. A chat uses whichever is lower, the model’s maximum or your tier’s limit. On the AI Models page, many I’m All In models top out at 16K, including SpicyXL 132B and Kimi K2. The 32K models listed there include DeepSeek V3, DeepSeek V4 Pro, Qwen Plus Character and the Glam models.
  • The free default model can reach 32K, but free accounts cannot. The default model is listed at 32K, yet the free tier’s own limit is 4,096, so the tier limit wins.

Semantic Memory 2.0 and the Memory Manager

Semantic Memory 2.0 is SpicyChat’s answer to the oldest messages dropping out. According to its documentation, it summarises key details from the chat into compact memories and pulls in the most relevant ones when writing a reply. In a new conversation it builds memories from the last 8 to 10 messages, “in groups of 4 at a time”; for older chats it works through earlier messages in batches of 60, which can slow the first reply.

The Memory Manager, available from Get A Taste upwards, lets you add, edit, pin or delete memories by hand. One limitation is worth knowing before you rely on it: editing or deleting a message does not remove a memory made from it. You have to fix the memory yourself.

This is why the jump from Get A Taste to True Supporter is the big one. Get A Taste lets you write memories by hand. True Supporter writes them for you and gives the AI twice the room.

Images and voice

Conversation Images generate a picture of what is happening in the chat, in an anime or semi-realistic style. True Supporter gets them only on characters marked with the Conversation Images icon; I’m All In gets them on any character, including private ones you made. The documentation names no daily quota. SpicyChat’s image settings include an adult-content mode, and its documentation says characters will not generate images that break its Community Guidelines. For how SpicyChat compares with other apps for anime characters, see anime AI companion apps in 2026.

Text-to-speech is “exclusively for I’m All In subscribers”. It reads messages aloud in a choice of preset male and female voices, and the page says there is no limit on how many messages you can use it with.

Priority in the queue

Only I’m All In buys “priority generation in the queue”. That matters more than it sounds. On the free tier you pay nothing for messages, but at busy times you wait behind subscribers. If your main complaint is slow replies in the evening, this is the feature you are paying for, and it is only in the $29.95 tier.

What the free tier already gives you

Before paying, it helps to be clear about what you would be paying for. SpicyChat’s documentation says it is “resolute in ensuring that the core features remain accessible to everyone, free of charge”. We found no published message cap for signed-in free users. The free tier gets six models, including a default model with a 32K ceiling, but its own 4,096-token context and 180-token reply limit apply.

So the free tier is genuinely usable. What it lacks is memory depth, longer replies, speed at busy times and the larger models. That makes SpicyChat different from apps that meter messages, which we compare in message limits and per-message charges on Character.AI alternatives.

Cost per use: what a month works out to

A subscription is easier to judge as a daily cost. Assume someone chats on 30 days a month and sends 60 messages a day, 1,800 a month:

Tier Monthly price Per day Per message at 1,800 a month
Get A Taste $5.95 $0.20 $0.003
True Supporter $19.95 $0.67 $0.011
I’m All In $29.95 $1.00 $0.017

On those assumptions, True Supporter costs about one cent a message and I’m All In under two cents. That is cheap for someone who uses it daily and expensive for someone who opens it twice a month. Halve the days and the per-message cost doubles. Our guide to what AI companions really cost shows how renewals and add-ons change totals like these.

How SpicyChat premium compares with other paid tiers

If you are choosing between companion apps rather than SpicyChat tiers, Candy AI vs CrushOn AI compares two other adult options on price and memory.

These are the closest flat-rate plans with prices we could verify. Each one solves a slightly different problem.

Plan Price What you mainly get Source checked
SpicyChat Get A Taste $5.95 a month No ads, Memory Manager; memory unchanged 22 Oct 2026
SpicyChat True Supporter $19.95 a month 8K memory, Semantic Memory 2.0, longer replies 22 Oct 2026
SpicyChat I’m All In $29.95 a month Up to 32K memory, priority, voice, largest models 22 Oct 2026
janitor+ (Janitor AI) $12.99 a month “5x more context”, unlimited priority messages, monthly swipes on frontier models 22 Oct 2026 (launch post of 24 June 2026)
(c.ai) lite $4.99 a month or $2.49 a week Daily premium-style messages, fewer ads, extra memory pins 22 Oct 2026
c.ai+ $9.99 a month Unlimited premium chats, no ads, full memory suite Price read 18 Oct 2026
Candy AI $13.99 a month after a $9.99 first month, or $47.88 a year Unlimited text messages, 100 tokens a month 22 Oct 2026

What stands out:

  • Priority is cheaper elsewhere. janitor+ includes unlimited priority messages at $12.99; on SpicyChat, priority is only in the $29.95 tier. If speed is all you want and you are happy on Janitor AI, see our janitor+ guide.
  • Memory upgrades are cheaper elsewhere, but measured differently. c.ai+ promises the “complete memory suite” for less than half of True Supporter’s price, but Character.AI does not publish a token figure, so a direct comparison is not possible. Character.AI is also in a Chapter 11 sale, which affects any long subscription; our c.ai+ guide and sale guide explain why.
  • Candy AI is a different kind of app. It is built around companions you create rather than a library of user-made characters, and its plans meter tokens for media rather than messages. It is cheapest per month on its annual plan, but that is a year paid up front.
  • Nectar AI is the other creator to weigh, with one gap. Its FAQ says the free plan covers the character creator, chat and limited image generation, and its docs give the paid plans (Premium, Pro and Ultimate) context windows of 8K, 16K and 64K tokens, a published figure you can set beside SpicyChat’s 4K, 8K and up to 32K. Voice messages come with its paid plans, and it added voice and video calls on 15 October 2026, charged in credits. It is not in the table because its pricing page showed us no prices on 25 October 2026, so check the figure in your account before comparing it with $19.95 or $29.95 here. Adults only, per its FAQ. Billing, cancelling and refunds

SpicyChat’s terms say recurring plans are charged “in accordance with the fees, charges and billing terms in effect at the time that each fee or charge is due”, and that SpicyChat may change its prices and billing methods “at any time”. The September rise is an example of that in practice, softened by the price lock for existing subscribers.

To subscribe, the pricing FAQ says free users click Get Premium in the header or Subscribe in the right-hand menu. To manage or cancel, existing subscribers go to their profile and click Manage Subscription. Note the date your period ends; cancelling stops the next renewal, and reactivating before that date keeps an older price.

Refunds are narrow. The refund policy, updated 7 October 2026, says:

  • Fees are non-refundable “once the Login details have been used”.
  • Not using a membership, or being unable to access the site through no fault of SpicyChat, is not grounds for a refund.
  • There are no refunds or credits for partial-month periods.
  • Refunds cannot be made where the payment method does not allow them, including cryptocurrency.
  • Refunds for payments made through Apple are processed by Apple, and SpicyChat says it cannot guarantee the outcome.

In plain terms, assume that what you pay is spent. That is the strongest argument for starting with one month of the tier you think you need rather than a year. Our guide to cancelling AI subscriptions covers card, app store and processor routes in general.

Where you pay matters

SpicyChat has no app in Apple’s App Store. Its documentation says the iOS app was removed and that iPhone users should add the website to their home screen. On Android, the official app is an APK downloaded from SpicyChat’s own website, not Google Play. If you want app-store billing, the documentation says you can subscribe through PixelChat, a separate SFW app on Google Play, and the subscription applies to SpicyChat too.

That means any “SpicyChat” app you find in an app store under another publisher name deserves suspicion. Our guide to spotting fake AI app clones explains what to check before paying through one.

Age verification can affect what you get

Paying does not skip age checks. SpicyChat’s age verification page says NSFW content stays locked until verification is complete in France, the UK, Italy, Australia and 26 US states, among them Texas, Florida, Virginia and Utah. Verification is done by third-party partners, usually with a video selfie and an ID check as a fallback. SpicyChat says it never receives the images or documents. Requirements follow your current IP address, so they can change when you travel.

If you live in one of those places and are not willing to verify, factor that in before paying for a tier.

Who should pay, and for which tier

Stay on the free tier if:

  • You chat casually, a few times a week.
  • Your conversations are short scenes rather than long stories.
  • Waiting a little at busy times does not bother you.

Consider Get A Taste ($5.95) if:

  • Ads are the only thing that bothers you.
  • You want to pin a few key facts with the Memory Manager or keep up to 10 personas.
  • Do not buy it to fix forgetting. The context and reply length are the same as the free tier.

Consider True Supporter ($19.95) if:

  • Your characters lose track of a story after about 20 messages.
  • You want longer replies (300 tokens instead of 180).
  • You want Semantic Memory 2.0 to keep important details from earlier in the chat.

Consider I’m All In ($29.95) if:

  • You run very long stories and will use a 32K model.
  • You want priority at busy times, text-to-speech or images on your own characters.
  • You will use it often enough for $1 a day to make sense.

Do not pay yet if:

  • You are not sure you will still be using it next month. With no refunds after use, a month is the most you should commit to at first.
  • You want app-store billing on an iPhone. SpicyChat does not offer it there.
  • You are on a pre-September price and only want to switch billing cycle. You would lose the old price.

What we could not confirm

  • How the paid tiers perform in practice. We have not subscribed, so we cannot say how much better replies or memory feel on each tier.
  • Wait times. SpicyChat publishes no figures for queue times on the free tier or the effect of priority.
  • Free-tier personas. The Premium Features page lists persona limits only for paid tiers.
  • Conversation Images quotas. The documentation names no daily limit for either tier that includes them.
  • Model sizes. The Premium Features page says the top tier adds models with “up to 141 billion additional parameters”, while the AI Models page lists SpicyXL as 132B. We could not reconcile the two.
  • Refunds in practice. The refund policy describes when refunds are refused, but not a route for requesting one where the law requires it.
  • The current c.ai+ price. Character.AI’s subscription page refuses automated requests; the $9.99 figure is from pricing data read on 18 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

How much does SpicyChat premium cost in 2026?

SpicyChat's pricing FAQ, read on 22 October 2026, gives $5.95 a month for Get A Taste, $19.95 for True Supporter and $29.95 for I'm All In, or $60.00, $199.95 and $299.95 a year. Euro prices match the USD figures; GBP prices are £4.95, £16.95 and £25.95 a month. The new prices took effect on 8 September 2026.

Is SpicyChat free?

Yes. SpicyChat's documentation says the core features stay free of charge, and it publishes no message cap for signed-in free users. Free chats get a 4,096-token memory, 180-token replies, ads and no priority in the generation queue.

Does Get A Taste improve SpicyChat's memory?

Not the context memory. SpicyChat's tokens-and-context page gives Get A Taste the same 4,096-token context and 180-token reply limit as the free tier. What it adds is no ads, the Memory Manager for adding memories by hand, and up to 10 personas. The context doubles only at True Supporter.

Can I get a refund on SpicyChat?

Rarely. SpicyChat's refund policy, updated 7 October 2026, says fees are non-refundable once the login details have been used, and that there are no refunds or credits for partial months. Cryptocurrency payments cannot be refunded, and Apple refunds are handled by Apple.

If I cancel, do I keep my old SpicyChat price?

Only if you reactivate before your current period ends. The pricing FAQ says subscribers from before 8 September keep their old price while the plan stays active and unchanged. Once a cancelled plan fully expires, or if you upgrade, downgrade or switch between monthly and annual, you move to current pricing.
